Turf Management Internship

Compensation: $20-23 DOE
Description: Located 11 miles from downtown Boston in Weston Massachusetts, Pine Brook Country Club enjoys a reputation as one of the finest private clubs in Massachusetts. The candidate will work with a seasoned crew through projects, applications, and daily operations. Individual understands the requirements and demands of turf improvement at a high-end private course. Engaged interns will open more doors as they progress, and it is our hope that interns will seize the opportunity to convert their internship into a full-time position. The agronomy team is very well connected in the industry and will do everything we can to help interns be as successful as possible in their future careers.
Responsibilities include:
- Irrigation repair and troubleshooting
- Water management/Hand watering
- Fertilizer applications/calibrations
- Crew organization
- Aerification
- Small projects
- Operate tractors and loaders
- Course set-up
- Walk mow greens, tees and collar
Required Work Habits:
- Regular attendance, punctuality, teamwork, initiative, dependability, and promptness. Early morning, weekend, and holidays required
- Ability to perform extreme physical work; may be required to lift up to 50 pounds frequently, standing 8-10 hours/day, performing such activities as bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling and lifting
Working Conditions:
- Can be exposed to extreme conditions including but not limited to chemicals such as pesticides, extreme cold/hot temperatures, wind, rain, and other weather conditions
