Summer Sales Associate Internship

About the Role
The Summer Sales Associate position is an internship opportunity  responsible for supporting the Feedstock (organic food waste) Sales Team with insight and acquisition of new businesses for food waste recycling.

We will provide adequate training and supervision in desired sales techniques. Ideal candidates will have an entrepreneurial work style, excellent judgment and discretion, top-notch verbal skills, an eagerness to learn, and be organized and ready for a challenge. We are a fast paced company who values innovation and lived experiences. Growth and success are measured both individually and by the success of the Sales Feedstock Team as a whole. 

  • Duration:  June 7th to August 12th (ten weeks)
  • Work Days: Tuesday- Friday
  • Rate: $20/hr plus incentives for sales connections
  • Travel: Mileage Reimbursement at current IRS rate (0.585 per mile)
  • Equipment: Company sponsored tablet will be provided.

Requirements
  • Vanguard has a vaccine mandate in place for all employees/interns and this internship is conditional based on your ability to provide written documentation that you have been fully vaccinated for COVID.

  • Comfortable public speaking and networking with new people
  • Passion for sustainability and climate change solutions and the desire to sell a service that will make a difference.

Responsibilities
  • Perform sales prospecting activities, including daily logging of activities and opportunities of customer facing activities.
  • Collect billing information from new customers and communicate internally with the accounting department to ensure all necessary information is on file.
  • Communicate about new feedstock acquisitions and ensure all necessary information is received by each VR department.
  • Field inbound calls to help service current and prospective customers
  • Understand and utilize pricing tools in order to work with customers and prospects changing service needs.
  • Utilize Adobe Sign to collect signatures from new customers and create new Feedstock Supply Agreements.
  • Supporting our customer appreciation programs and/or other external communications to highlight the contribution of our food waste generator partners In creating renewable energy on local dairy farms.
  • 50% travel  within Massachusetts.
  • Provide input on educational training and signage.
