Project Engineer/ Assistant PM

 

  • Layout & Coordination of Plumbing & HVAC Systems Using CAD
  • Mechanical Systems Design & Modifications/Re-Design
  • Attend Job Meetings
  • Estimating & Cost Analysis 
  • Project Engineering & Management
  • Manage Submittals, RFIs & Procurement  

 

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering (Typically Mechanical or Aerospace, but open to other Engineering or Construction Management backgrounds)

 

Essential Skills, Personality Traits & Qualifications:

 

  • Has Experience in Construction or MEP Consulting
  • Interested in, and has some experience in Drafting, Design, Autocad, etc. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel & Bluebeam
  • Has a Basic Technical Understanding of Mechanical Systems
  • Hands-on Type of Personality   
  • Determined for Career Growth and Advancement
  • Willing to take on Responsibility 
  • Personable (will need to be in client facing and managerial roles in the future) 
  • Has to live in (or willing to relocate to) the Hudson Valley Area Full Time - (Anywhere in Westchester, Putnum or Dutchess County, New York or Western Connecticut could work)
  • Must be willing to work fully in person (Main Office, Field Office, and/or Job-site settings)
  • Is looking for a Career that involves Engineering, BUT will also involve developing skills in Business Management, Economics, Supply Chains, Manufacturing & Fabricating Processes, Personal Relationships & Teambuilding, etc.…
  • Typically we hire Mechanical Engineers, but we are open to exploring other options as well

LJ Coppola inc. is a medium sized, family owned, Mechanical Contracting Business. The Company was Incorporated in 1972. 

In over 50 years of Business we’ve successfully completed over 900 Projects in the Lower Hudson Valley Area in New York State (Directly North of NYC). 

Whenever selling our services to new clients we pride ourselves in saying LJ Coppola has never failed to complete an awarded project.

Our Project sizes range anywhere from $10,000.00 - $80,000,000.00 in Construction & Overhead Costs.

Trade work consists of Mechanical Systems, HVAC, Plumbing as well as Process & Industrial Piping. 

Our Labor Force consists of directly hired Union Tradesman on every job that we do. 

We have in-house Drafting, Estimating, & Project Management Departments. We do our own Steam-fittings fabrication.

The President of our company, as well as other staff members, have been with the company for over 40 years.   

We are interested in hiring young engineers who are willing to learn from our experienced staff. There will be plenty of opportunities for career advancement within the near future, as we are expecting turnover within the next 3-8 years due to several long term staff members upcoming retirements.

 

A new junior member of our team would be hired to perform several roles, including but are not limited to: Drafting and Shop Drawing Design, Project Engineering, and Assistant PM related tasks.

 

Typically we hire candidates to this role who are newly graduated or have 1-3 years of relevant post undergrad experience. 

We would prefer an applicant to have completed a Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET Accredited Program. However we are open to consider other applicants.
