Sales and Community Power Associate

Standard Power of America is a leading energy consultant and broker based out of Nashua, New Hampshire. We have a mission to make energy more responsible and reliable for all our clients. 

 

Standard Power, founded in 2010, is an energy consultant and broker with a heavy focus on renewability. Additionally, Standard Power is a leading administrator and advocate of small hydroelectric power facilities within the state. We are currently offering paid internships for the Summer of 2024. Interns should possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and an independent work ethic.

Job Summary 

Join our team as a Sales and Community Power Associate, where you'll play a vital role in driving sales through telemarketing efforts, supporting Community Power initiatives in New Hampshire, and assisting with Renewable Energy Credit (REC) programs and research in Maine. This multifaceted position involves conducting outbound telemarketing calls, attending committee meetings, providing data analysis support, and contributing to outreach campaigns. Ideal candidates will possess strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and a passion for promoting sustainable energy solutions. 

 

Responsibilities 

Power Market Sales (~50%) 

  • Conduct outbound calls and site visits to potential clients in New England to generate leads and sales opportunities for contracting Relevate’s power generation assets 
  • Utilize effective sales techniques to engage prospects, communicate product benefits, and persuade them to consider Community Power services. 
  • Maintain accurate records of all calls, including details of conversations, follow-up actions, and outcomes. 
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop and refine telemarketing scripts and strategies for maximum effectiveness. 
  • Provide regular updates on contracting activities and outcomes to the sales manager. 

Community Power in New Hampshire (~40%) 

  • Provide comprehensive support to Community Power initiatives in New Hampshire, including data assimilation and analysis to inform decision-making processes. 
  • Attend committee meetings related to Community Power projects, actively participate in discussions, and contribute insights and recommendations. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to coordinate efforts and ensure alignment with project goals and objectives. 

Other (~10%) 

  • Provide support for Renewable Energy Credit (REC) programs, including data management, reporting, and compliance activities. 
  • Conduct research on Community Power initiatives and traditional energy practices in Maine, gathering data and insights to support outreach and advocacy efforts. 
  • Assist in the development of outreach materials and communication strategies tailored to the Maine market. 

 

Requirements 

  • Comfortable speaking professionally 
  • Strong writing skills appropriate for a fast-paced environment 
  • Strong internet skills, which would ideally include database/directory research, spreadsheet software, and word-processing software 
  • Flexible and comfortable with multi-tasking and diverse account management 
  • Able to appropriately prepare for both internal and external meetings, deadlines, and unexpected responsibilities 
  • Persistence, a competitive spirit, and the ability to learn from mistakes
